About Brooks A. Bahr, MD, MBA
Dr. Brooks Bahr lives in Farmington with his wife, two young boys, and two dogs. He has a passion for helping people keep their skin healthy, as he has personally had skin cancer in the past, and he has worked to build a team that can deliver the highest quality skin care for all skin conditions in a friendly, fun, caring environment. He is the son of A. Lee and Carol Ann Bahr, and grew up in Bountiful, graduated from Bountiful High School, served a 2-year LDS mission to Mexico, and then went to the University of Utah where he was a starting outside linebacker on the football team for two years and a 2nd team Academic All American in 2002. He graduated cum laude in Biology, earned his MBA degree in 2003 and his MD in 2007, graduating as co- president of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society for his medical school graduating class. He completed his internship at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray, and then his dermatology residency at the University of Southern California, where he served as chief resident his final year. After residency, he worked at Stanford University as an Assistant Professor of Dermatology from 2011-2014 and Clinic Chief for Stanford’s Dermatology Clinic. He also directed the medical student sub-internship in dermatology for Stanford’s 4th year medical students, and was awarded the Faculty Teaching Award in 2014 by the Stanford Dermatology Residents.
Dr. Bahr is board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the Utah Medical Association, the Utah Dermatology Association, the Pacific Dermatologic Association, and the American Society of Mohs Surgeons. He is an expert in medical and surgical dermatology treatments and regularly lectures at national and regional meetings, including a course he directs at the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology.
He loves staying active and his wife, boys, and dogs help keep him busy in his spare time. He enjoys hiking in the hills in Davis County, playing squash, racquetball, basketball, tennis, lifting weights, watching football, playing chess and other board games, reading with his children, beekeeping, and attending church and community events. He is a member of the Bountiful Rotary Club and strives to help improve our community through service there. He is currently an Assistant Professor of Dermatology at the University of Utah where he works one day each week. He opened Bahr Dermatology in Bountiful in September 2015, and has a dedicated team and thriving practice that delivers world-class dermatology care to the people of Davis County and the surrounding areas.
